# Simple Pre-Trade Checklist

When you trade perps, you need to do so with intent. Having a checklist, physical or mental, will pay off in the long run

Here is a simple checklist you can use to validate perp trades before opening them

1. **What is my trade idea**

   Am I going long or short, and why?
2. **Where will I accept the loss**

   What is my invalidation level?
3. **How much am I willing to risk**

   Have I sized my position accordingly?
4. **Do I know what fundamental events are coming up**

   Have you checked fundamental calenders?
5. **Where is my target for this trade**

   Mark your target areas and set TP's
