Setting Up Your Wallet

Before you trade anything, you need a wallet.

On Solana, most people use Phantom. It's simple, secure, and works everywhere.

Your wallet is your personal bank. You control it. Not an exchange, not anyone else.

Go to the official site

Visit: https://phantom.app

Only download from this link. Fake Phantom sites exist and they will drain your wallet.

Install it

You can use Phantom as:

• A browser extension (Chrome, Brave, Firefox, Edge)

• A mobile app (iOS or Android)

Pick whichever you'll actually use. Most traders run both.

Create your wallet

Follow the prompts to create a new wallet.

Phantom will show you a seed phrase (12 words). Write it down on paper and store it somewhere safe offline.

Never share your seed phrase with anyone. Ever. Anyone who has it owns your wallet.

Add SOL

You need SOL to:

• Buy coins

• Pay transaction fees (very cheap on Solana, usually fractions of a cent)

To get SOL into your wallet:

• Buy on an exchange (Coinbase, Binance, Kraken, Bybit)

• Or use MoonPay directly inside Phantom

• Send it to your Phantom wallet address

Triple check the address before sending. Crypto transactions can't be reversed.

Use multiple wallets

Smart traders don't keep everything in one place.

Common setup:

• Trading wallet for active plays

• Holding wallet for longer term bags

• Burner wallet for connecting to new or sketchy sites

If your trading wallet gets drained, your main stack is safe.

Creating a new wallet in Phantom takes 10 seconds. There's no reason not to separate your risk.

• Never connect your wallet to random sites

• Always check the URL before signing anything

• Ignore airdrops and DMs from strangers

• Store your seed phrase offline, not in your notes app or cloud

Protect your seed phrase and you protect your money. Lose it and everything is gone.
